About the event
The 2026 OJKA Canada Koyo Camp brings together JKA karate practitioners for four days of focused training, technical development, and community in Ottawa.
Classes will be taught by Shiina Katsutoshi Sensei from JKA Headquarters in Tokyo, offering participants the opportunity to train under an experienced JKA HQ instructor. Dan examinations up to 6th Dan and qualification examinations up to Instructor B, Judge A, and Examiner C levels will also be held during the camp.
The camp will feature dedicated programs for instructors, youth, and adult practitioners, allowing participants to train in an environment tailored to their level and objectives. Sessions will explore fundamental techniques, kata, kumite, teaching methodology, competition preparation, and practical applications while maintaining a strong emphasis on traditional JKA karate.
