Refund inquiries will be considered on a case by case basis. Please contact registration team at ottawajka@rogers.com for further assistance.
Is the camp open to all belts?
It is open only to brown (3rd Kyu – 1st Kyu) belts and black belts.
Are all sessions offered to both brown and black belts?
Yes, all sessions are geared toward brown and black belts.
Do I need a JKA Passport to participate in the camp?
Yes, all participants must present JKA passport upon arrival. Information on obtaining JKA passports will be announced when available.
How can I obtain a JKA Passport and how much does it cost?
1. CJKF members who do not have a JKA passport are asked to please contact Denise Saeki at saekikinta@rogers.com.
2. JKA members who do not have a JKA passport can purchase a JKA passport at the door.
3. NON-JKA members are welcome to join the JKA and obtain a passport. You must, however, first contact Sensei Saeki by phone at 613-235-8089 or by email at ottawajka@rogers.com to discuss the process.
Can we have a group discount?
No, group discounts are not available.
Can I pay with other currency other than US funds?
Fees for camp seminars, dan exams and qualifications exams must me paid in US funds which are set by JKA Headquarters. All other costs including hotel accommodations, etc. are in Canadian funds. Please refer to the registration package for more details.
Can I buy extra banquet tickets?
Yes, provided that the banquet is not already sold out. Please contact the registration team at ottawajka@rogers.com to request additional banquet tickets as soon as possible.
Do you offer vegetarian food for lunches and the banquet?
Yes, vegetarian food will be offered. Please specify your preference on your registration form and list any food allergies you may have.
Do the change rooms have showers?
Yes, there are a number of showers in both the men’s and women’s change rooms.
How many people will the two-bedroom suites hold at the Algonquin College Residence?
The suites reserved for Gasshuku can accommodate from 1 to 4 people. The rates will vary according to occupancy. For Single or Double occupancy, the rate is $74.95 CAD per night. For Triple occupancy, the rate is $79.95 CAD per night. For Quadruple occupancy, the rate is $84.95 CAD per night.
